The brotherhood of bikers
One of the things that’s great about being a biker is that we often ride alone, but we’re all part of something much bigger.
Hog, Scooter, Sportsbike…. It doesn’t matter what you ride.
I’ve never experienced anything that bonds us to complete strangers like being part of the biking fraternity.
The backstory:
This poor lad it trying to learn the knowledge so he can become a cabbie. He was stranded about 25 miles away from home on an unlit stretch of road between Staines Upon Thames and Ashford when his bike broke down.

my young cousin stopped to help a fellow biker way back in the 1960,s and a drunk driver in a car hit him and took him up the road a hundred metres before he fell off the car, he was in a coma for 8 weeks lost a leg had a bone chip in his shoulder that the surgeons couldn’t remove and he also had a degree of brain damage. so when you stop to help someone please be careful there are a lot of idiots out there. you also have my respect for helping your fellow bikers good luck to you and stay safe.

Respect man, investing your time in someone else’s problem just like that… For me it’s gotten to the point where I have a tank bag full of stuff to be able to fix (mostly) other people’s problems 🙂 Because my trusty CBR 1000 F has never ever had a problem in the past 40.000 km 🙂 I even have a small bicycle tyre repair kit including handpump, always with me. Been able to really help people many many times. Even once a mother with a kid in the middle of nowhere alongside the road at night with a bicycle with a flat tire. In the pouring rain. Fixed her tire right up. Rarely if ever saw someone so thankful. She’s still a fun skype contact :)Also always with me: small first aid kit, bottle of water, a bunch of tools and screwdriver bits, rolls of ducttape, isolation tape and fishline rope, glue, tiewraps, knife, extra t-shirt, reflecting safety vest, two flashlights, jumper cables, plastic bags, small rubber hose (the amount of times I have been able to help people with as much as a quarter tank of petrol…) batteries, USB cables, dry socks (you can make a bum in the rain really happy for €0,50, OR band-aid just about any broken parts 🙂 ), toothpicks/floss/handsoap, painkillers, WD40, and probably some other stuff I forget… And it all fits easily in my €20 Bering tankbag! \o/Call me a boy scout but I just like to come prepared 😉

That was ridiculously nice of you.

I DOnt yet have a bike but I do try to help out anyone I can, If I possibly can. My thinking is that one day I will need assistance and by helping other I increase the likelyhood of myself getting help too. Most ask me how they can repay me and I will just reply “Pay it forward, help someone who needs help”.

There’s not many people would do what you have just done, well done! more people should! I saw a fellow rider at the side of a country road last week myself and asked him if he needed help, he was only taking a break, but still there’s no harm in asking, and giving a hand, never know people might even make a mate out of it. I had to subscribe after watching this, as I saw well done sir!

respect from romania ! … we always do that….help each other out … when it comes to bikes especially when the towing service is expencive …or we don’t have the necesary tools to fix it …..so what we do… either get a towing rope… or best bet … in case of no tools .. no towing …we have a technique we learned from the germans back in the 60’s it’s a bit dangeros but get’s the job done… what you do to tow another bike with no rope….. ride your bike on the left side of the damaged bike with your right leg on the damaged bikes. passanger pegs (footrest) and push it up to speed ….safe speed arround 30-40 km/h alternativeley when you get tired the other biker can hang on the passanger handles with his left arm …. it’s what the driving schools here teach motorcyclist at first learn how to control your bike with one arm. I helped out a german once near the mounains in romania that was touring europe and he had engine problems the bike wold not start back up …. so i did the manevre for like 10 km until i found a gas station … the problem was the low oil level … the bikes sensors shut down the ignition system to protect the engine … so at the gas station they had motorcycle oil … put it back up to the right level …. we had to give it a push to start the battery was dead … so yah ….. 2 hours of my life went by but i helped the guy out …. and he offerd me money … for gas etc … i sayd no ! … and he ended up at my friends party where i was going :))

first off…screw the two people that disliked this kind man’s gesture of friendship to another biker. Secondly I wish there were more people like this driving, roads would be a lot safer and kinder in my opinion. Lastly….I have a got a sudden urge for biscuits.
KathrynLiz1
You’re a prince… Good man. But as you say, it’s what us bikers do…. Love touch having bikkies as well… xo
