In March 2013 i rode solo from London to Barcelona. This was my first ever attempt at touring, there were some hard times (leaving London in the snow!) and some things i will never forget.
The series will be release one section at a time soon on YouTube.

Gsxr’s are so comfy in comparison! I wouldn’t be so hesitant about doing my whole trip over again next year if I had a liter bike, especially a Gsxr. How many miles was it for you? Snow is shit, I feel your pain.

Just did 2 straight riding days 450-600 miles each then another 2 on the way back, plus riding at the Ozarks for a total of 2400 miles in 7 days on my ’09 R6. Its great for feeling every muscle ache in your back and for calf cramps in the middle of the night. Anything over 85mph is cake though! Do it though, ride trips are unforgettable, aches and pains go away.

I had a zx12r and lowered the pegs using Buell XB footpegs and Helibars to raise the bars. Night and day difference, was able to tour easily with no aches or pains, heated grips help too.

I went from London to southern Spain through Calais on my old R6. I loved that bike ! I would do it again on my RR, just travel light !

Hey mate I have been from London to southern Spain through Calais and back on my old R6, no problem. Just don’t take too much luggage. I just had a small tank bag and rucksack. Andorra is track heaven. Enjoy !

I did the same trip at the same time with 2 other friends. After Barcelona we rode across Spain over the Pyrenees to Santander to get the ferry home. Your after effects make it look even more picturesque than it was!

actually the gsxr was pretty comfy – i dont think an R6 would fall into the same category sadly. However, the additional spoiler on the screen was probably the best ‘comfort’ addition 🙂
